Supporting Literacy Through Readers Inc

One of the initiatives supported by members of the PLAH community is Readers Inc, a literacy platform founded by Temitope Onitiri, together with her children and a close friend. What began as a personal effort to nurture a love of reading within their own families has grown into a broader initiative dedicated to encouraging a stronger reading culture among children.

Readers Inc works to improve access to books and inspire young readers by making quality children’s books easier for families to obtain and share. The initiative promotes the joy of reading while helping children develop curiosity, imagination, and lifelong learning habits.

Through PLAH (Professionals Lending A Helping Hand), professionals from different industries contribute to this mission by providing funding, support, and visibility to initiatives that expand educational opportunity. Members of the PLAH network recognise that literacy is a powerful foundation for personal growth and future opportunity.
